Phnom Penh Day 2

This morning our Tuk Tuk driver arrived at 8:30 and took us to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. It was a school that Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge turned into a prison and interrogation center during his rule from 1975 to 1979. The atrocities carried out here by the Khmer regime are incomprehensible! Thousands of innocent people were killed.
We had planned to go to the Killing Fields, however after viewing the museum we decided it was too much to go to the fields.
Next stop was the Russian Market which was more of the same as the City Center Market. Our stop was very brief.
Final stop for the day was ThenRoyal Palace. The palace itself was closed since the king recently died. However we did tour the silver and elephant pagodas as well as the gardens.
A lovely dinner at the Lemongrass completed the day.

  1. Finally have this comment thing figured out thanks to you Georg. Very interesting. Streets look a little crowded. I would not want to drive there. Thanks for now. TT and ST

  2. Hilarious, the picture of the lady picking at her feet next to the produce.
We in the western world are so pre-occupied with sanitation and yet, a bit of toenail never killed anyone!
Thank you both for sharing your pictures while travelling. It looks amazing.
