Last Day of the Temples

Today is Sunday. Sure doesn't feel like a Sunday! Today is our final day to see a few more temples. We started with Kabul Spean the furthest temple of the group. From the parking area we struck out on a 1.5 km hike up the hill to the river and water fall see the linga, lotus flower symbols and mythical characters etched into the stone in and along the water. There were a couple of stretches along the path where we had to go into mountain goat gear to traverse the steep incline and boulders being careful not to slip (only one raspberry on my knee LOL) on the powdery sand coating.
The second temple Banteay Srei is relatively well preserved. As soon as we entered the gardens surrounding the temple we had a warm and inviting feeling. The place seemed really friendly. The relief carvings were fantastic as were the stone statues.
The last two were the Western Mebon, with fantastic elephant statues, and, Preah Neak Poan a temple situated in the middle of water.
I'll let the pictures speak for themselves..
