Kuala Lumpur

Our first flight was an hour to HoChi Minh City where we had a three hour wait. For a minute during the landing we thought we might not even get off the tarmac. On touch down the plane swerved to the right and then back, felt like we were going to catapult down the runway. Whew! We decided to check out some of eating places in the airport. Not cheap to say the least but a bowl of rice noodle soup sure hit the spot. Little did we know they would feed us on our flight from HCMC to KL. Two meals down in less than two hours; soooo stuffed! Just prior to pulling into the terminal in KL the pilot announced that under the new health protocols they were required to fumigate the plane. As the steward walked down the aisles discharging to aerosol canisters I was extremely happy to see he wasn't wearing a gas mask.LoL
After travelling for 60km our taxi dropped us at our hotel. The area seemed slightly less attractive than we expected but Trip Advisor reviews did say the hotel was okay. After checking in, and on the advice of the front desk staff, we decided to go out to the Gem restaurant for Indian food. After all we were in the Brickyard also known as little India. We had to venture down an alley (Marie rather nervous and reluctant) but it quickly delivered us on to a main street and to our restaurant. Why we decided to eat again after so many meals already, I'm not sure, but it was a tasty bit of Indian cuisine. On the way back to the hotel we passed many street side eateries and discovered there we some rather ratty, shabby, sleazy looking brothels next door to our hotel.
Tasking notice of the apparent less than desirable character of the locals on the street we concluded perhaps it was best not to wander about in the neighbourhood after midnight.
We are on the 15th floor (top floor) which gives us a nice view, not spectacular, but nice. First photo is out the window of our area at night. And again in the morning.
