A walk to the beach, a pedicure and a massage

Since the sun was peaking through the clouds we buckled up are sandals and started a 3.5 km walk to the beach. It was a nice walk especially crossing the river via the bridge. Marie spotted a snake about 5' in length, swimming in the water. Marie was quite excited and surprised as most of the snakes have ended up on a table in the market, eventually becoming someone's meal.
The beach was virtually barren, only a few people trying to sun themselves. The surf was good with 1 meter high waves rolling in and crashing against the sand. A beautiful sandy beach with cool to cold winds and cold water which I guess is to be expected as it is winter in Vietnam.
The beach side restaurants were also virtually empty, the hostesses standing on the beach frantically waving at anyone passing by to come in for a meal.
There were fishermen sitting in the fishing tubs, ( the round boats) repairing their nets. Just off the beach were two guys thatching a roof with long narrow dried leaves of a sort.
Back in town we tried a new coffee spot for "take away" coffee and stopped by the bakery for a snack to go with our coffee. The coffee was ok but what was unique was the plastic handle to carry he coffee. Too funny.
A few photos around town, not much else happening other than packing for Kuala Lumpur.
