Krabi Town

One of the few attractions in Krabi town is the Wat Kaew Temple. It is fairly new and situated on a hill overlooking the town towards the water. The rails of the concrete stairs are adorned by dragons. Inside the temple the walls are covered in beautiful artwork. The doors and shutters display intricate relief carvings. Sitting at the front of the temple is a magnificent Buddha. The photos explain the detail.
On the landing before the Temple we were forced to step our way gingerly around a ferocious guard dog creating some very tense moments.
While touring the town we were approached by three Muslim girls. At first we weren't sure what they wanted but it soon became clear they were surveying tourists as some sort of school project. They had a questionnaire that we had to fill out, describing our what we thought about Thailand. It was fun and after completing the questions they asked to take our photo. We also took a photo of the girls with Marie.
The night market is only a block from our hotel, an obvious choice to go on the prowl for our dinner fare. As with all markets there were endless numbers of places to buy "fast food" to take with you or sit and one of the plastics tables for a quick meal. Some looked edible and even tasty while a lot made my stomach turn. The is always a smell of fish sauce in these markets, sometimes overpowered by the smell of sewer, which tends to disrupt ones dining experience. Lol. In spite of the varied odours we managed to eat some fried rice, certainly not one of our better meals. Check out the spicy condiment! That could hurt a guy!
